Heavier Faith for Heavier Times

We recently experienced an increase in our water bill. It kept increasing month after month. We knew something wasn’t right because we weren’t using more water than normal. We called our plumber and after taking a look and running a few tests, he determined we had a leak. However, he could not find evidence of a leak. There wasn’t any water puddling up outside or inside. He told us we would have to replace the whole water line from the street to our house for 5k. We were shocked! If he knew where the leak was located, it would just be a patch job at a few hundred dollars.

The next day I mentioned to my husband that we should pray and ask God to expose where the leak was. We believed God could do this for us, so we prayed and asked.

Two days later we had a second plumber come out to give us another quote. He took a look at everything just as the first plumber did, but we were excited to find the water coming into our basement wall by the water main line! This water had not been there the day before. We sent a picture (below) to the first plumber and he confirmed he looked there and there was no evidence of water.

We were so grateful to then only have to pay for a patch job and now our water bills have returned to normal. Thank you, Lord!

After God exposed the leak, I heard Him say “I am developing heavier faith for heavier times in you.” I believe this word is for all believers. I hear God saying to ask Him for the little and big things. There is a grace to receive and it’s part of His heart right now to strengthen our faith for things that are to come. As God answers our prayers, we must share the stories with others, including unbelievers. As they hear of God’s goodness in our lives, it will deposit a seed of faith in them. You may find them coming to you to pray for them in difficult times. This is how God is currently moving…through one-on-one relational encounters. Let’s not hold back, but be bold to share the testimonies of God’s goodness in our lives.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8

The leak exposed!
